Texpo Africa
About Texpo Africa
TEXPO is an annual technology hackathon for young people. TEXPO (The Technology Expo) was founded as a platform where young people do not merely observe technology, they build it. Every edition presents learners with a real-world African problem and challenges them to design and build a functioning solution using Raspberry Pi hardware within a tightly defined competition window. It is Southern Africa's only annual learner hackathon of this kind. TEXPO is held in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe's second city and industrial capital during the time of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, deliberately so. The event signals that innovation is not confined to capital cities, and that the next generation of African problem-solvers is being forged in communities across the region. Texpo draws participants from all over Zimbabwe to participate in the Bulawayo event.
